Welcome to the new look Website

Welcome to the new look Gippsland High Country Tours website! After months of work, it’s very exciting to finally launch the new site. I’ve tried to keep some familiar features from the old site, but use a more modern design with more photos. I love it and hope you do too.

There is more focus on the nature discovery aspects of the tours that most of you are seeking and to keep it relevant, some of the less popular tours and walks have been taken off for now.  They may re-appear in the future as special departures.

Discover more about the different landscapes and tour destinations we explore on a new Destination page. East Gippsland is marketed as naturally magic and for good reason, you are spoilt for choices when it comes to natural landscapes. Are you craving for tall shady forests, echoing with bird calls or would you prefer to sit in the snowgrasses on an alpine peak surrounded by wildflowers.  Maybe you are seeking secluded coastlines and sandy beaches or keen to explore little known corners of Gippsland.  We can even take you to arid and interstate destinations. Have a look at the Destination tab on the menu for inspiration to help you plan your next escape to immerse yourself in nature somewhere special.

I hope to post regular stories on this blog page covering a variety of interesting topics and link these to our Facebook page. So if you follow us on Facebook, you’ll hear about the new blog stories when they are published.

As this site is new, if you do find any issues using the new website, please take a moment to let me know, as we are keen to iron out any glitches or hear about things that don’t work for you or that you find frustrating.  This website is not meant to just be pretty, it needs to help you find the information you want about our tours.

Goodbye to our old website

 GHCT old website

Our old website was originally developed way back in about 2003 by Paul from Bairnsdale Web Design, a local East Gippsland business. In recent years, despite Paul’s brilliant efforts to keep it looking good and adapt the site to accommodate new features I wanted, the layout was old and tired and did not work well on mobile devices.  So in the end (it took a while), he managed to convince me to start again from scratch with a whole new look.  Paul has been great to work with throughout the process and I can recommend Bairnsdale Web Design for anyone looking for affordable and flexible website design.  We are proud to support another local business and our site is also hosted on an environmentally friendly web server to help reduce our environmental footprint.

Don't forget that the best way to keep up to date with our program, news and special offers is to subscribe to our email updates.
