This short small group ecotour will take you far away from your busy life to discover a seldom seen corner of East Gippsland, Victoria. With a knowledgeable guide to share hidden secrets with you and help you learn about nature and wildlife, your Errinundra experience will be a rich and full one.

As you explore Errinundra National Park you will feel dwarfed by the immense trees of the old-growth eucalypt forests and enjoy an easy boardwalk through ancient cool-temperate rainforest with ferns and moss festooned logs. Learn what makes this forest so special and hear of the fight over many decades to save these magnificent trees from logging operations.

High on the Errinundra Plateau, the treetops are often shrouded in mountain mist, creating an atmosphere of its own. Wander along soft leafy tracks, listen to the quiet, smell the fresh bush scents and enjoy sightings and information about local wildlife. Tall wet forests give way to sub-alpine snowgum woodland at higher elevations, providing a great variety of birdlife for those that enjoy birdwatching.

Most of Errinundra National Park remained unburnt in 2019-20 bushfires, but it is surrounded by quite a lot of fire affected country. Your guide will provide an insight into how these ecosystems recover after fire.

This tour features easy walks with ample time to enjoy the tranquillity of your natural surroundings, combining remote forest explorations with the home comforts of cottage style accommodation and great country hospitality.

Spring departures feature spring wildflowers and the Gippsland Waratah in bloom. Autumn has its own charms in these wonderful forests.

Your guide will help you understand the way plants and animals interact in these very special ecosystems and share local history. You will not just return home refreshed and relaxed, but also with new knowledge and a better understanding of these forests.

Groups size 4-10 participants
