Day Trips

Occasionally we offer local Day Trips which are just a single day tour to discover nature, history or special places in Gippsland that are not too far from Bairnsdale.

Our Day Trips depart from and return to Bairnsdale, including local guide, lunch, morning & afternoon tea.  They start early and return late, so unless you live locally, you will need to arrange overnight accommodation in Bairnsdale before and after the day. Group size up to 11 participants.

Available occasionally, only on dates advertised unless you would like to gather a group of friends and contact us to arrange a private tour.

Bindi in Autumn

Bindi in Autumn Day Trip

1 day

Graded: Very Easy
Walks: Gentle ambles around the garden and historic buildings
Focus: History of early European pastoralists
Destinations: Bindi (private property), near Omeo

Amongst the mountains near Omeo is the beautiful Bindi Valley where the headwaters of the Tambo River flow past the Bindi Station homestead. We have been invited to bring a small group to spend a day immersed in the pioneering pastoral history of Bindi where early colonial buildings have been preserved. Listen to stories of a bygone era, told against a backdrop of mountains and gorgeous autumn trees planted around the homestead and paddocks. This is a very easy, slow pace day enjoying the ambience and history of Bindi.
